Can I use my home as a short-term rental?
Short term rentals in Roslyn are limited by zoning designations in the City of Roslyn. Roslyn allows for three (3) types of short-term rentals.

“Bed and breakfast inn,” “bed and breakfast” or “B&B” and related terms mean a transient lodging used to provide overnight guest lodging for compensation which provides a morning meal on premises as part of the room rate structure, situated in a building which is used primarily as the dwelling unit for a non-transient owner, or, in the case where there is an approved accessory dwelling unit on the same parcel, the principal dwelling is owner occupied.
“Home accommodation” means an owner-occupied dwelling unit with a maximum of two bedrooms used for transient lodging for periods of less than 30 consecutive days, where breakfast is not provided.

“Vacation rental” means the rental or lease of any dwelling or dwelling unit for overnight accommodations for periods of not more than 30 consecutive days.
Both a bed and breakfast and home accommodation type short term rental are allowed, by permit, within the residential zone.

Vacation rentals are allowed, by permit, in the commercial and commercial overlay zones.
